Summer Weekend Retreat 11th January to 13th August 2017
St Katharine’s, Parmoor, near Henley on Thames
Yoga and Mindfulness Retreat
This weekend retreat combines yoga, mindfulness and countryside walking in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, just 30 minutes from London. Yoga classes will be flowing vinyasa sequences, suitable for all levels. There will be numerous mindfulness meditations and yoga nidra, and other exciting and inspiring activities, such as countryside walks, poetry readings, mindful dance and a goal setting workshop. St Katharine’s Bucks, is a labyrinth of beautiful and peaceful spaces, including spaces for silence and contemplation.
The weekend will include four 90-minute yoga classes taught by yoga teacher, Sherin Shefik, who will mainly teach vinyasa flow yoga, but also combines lots of different styles of yoga into her teaching, (including yin, restorative, hatha, astanga, acro and partner yoga). Each class will be designed around one of four natural elements: earth (grounding), air (opening), fire (igniting) and water (letting go). The classes are suitable for all levels.
There are numerous mindfulness meditations, practices and discussions and yoga nidra, which will be led by mindfulness teachers Deborah Wharton and Shenel Shefik. There will be other diverse and exciting activities on the programme too, including countryside walks, poetry workshops, mindful dance, and a goal setting workshop. We have a qualified walk leader for countryside walks, and an excellent local practitioner of massage and reflexology who can be booked in advance or on site for additional cost.
All sessions are, of course, optional so you can pick and choose as you flow through the weekend.
The weekend starts at 10am on Friday morning and ends at noon on Sunday.
We also offer the following alternatives: short weekend (from 6pm on Friday to noon on Sunday), Friday day retreat (from 10am until 5:30pm), and Saturday day retreat (from 10am until 5:30pm).
Email me email@example.com for the full programme.
The vegetarian dining is fantastic and is praised for its tasty, versatile menus. Head cook, Jo Hartley, believes in using fresh, local ingredients wherever possible. Seasonal fruit and vegetables, including herbs, often come from the walled vegetable garden. All dietary requirements can be accommodated.
Tea and coffee facilities are available all day, and healthy snacks and homemade cakes will be served during the day.
Location and travel
The location is approximately 30 minutes by train from London Marylebone station to High Wycombe, and costs approximately £23 return.
